In Support of Families: The Perinatal Council's Partnerships and Collaborations

Because "it takes a village to raise a child", The Perinatal Council joins with health and social service agencies and other community based and faith-based organizations to support families.  The following represents a partial list of our partners, funders and collaborators all which share the goal of enhancing the health and self-sufficiency of families.

Collaborations:

  • Pittsburg Family Alliance. This alliance, formed in 1996, is a collaborative of agencies committed to serving families in Pittsburg with a "relationship-based" approach.   Our collaborative builds on local resources and informal support systems that work to help low-income residents meet their basic human needs and avoid reliance on public assistance.  Alliance members include The Perinatal Council, STAND! Against Domestic Violence (formerly Battered Women's Alternatives) La Clinica de la Raza,  and First Baptist Church Head Start.   It is funded by Contra Costa County Employment and Human Services Department, Children and Family Services Division.
  • Antioch First 5 Center.  Funded by First 5 Contra Costa, our parenting resource center focuses on providing parenting skills, child development and play activities designed to promote the healthy development of infants and children.
