Baby
Showers to Grow On
Baby Showers to Grow On is a volunteer program started in
December 2002 when the Clorox Company Marketing Department
adopted The Perinatal Council and gave them enough baby gifts
to fill 70 bags for mothers and babies. The bags lasted throughout
most of the year and were presented to new mothers working
with Family Advocates [link to Philosophy] at The Perinatal
Council offices in Richmond, Oakland, Pittsburg and Hayward.
Now the project is ongoing, with hosts being sought to sponsor
more "Baby Showers to Grow On."
The Perinatal Council works with teen mothers and other mothers
at risk for less than optimal pregnancy outcomes in communities
of high need. These mothers need our love and support. You
can help by purchasing a gift(s) for baby and by hosting or
attending a
"Baby Shower To Grow On".
To help with hosting or donating gifts, please contact: Jill
Sprenkel, at 925.634.0265.
This is how it works. Check the list below for the top gift
needs. Bring your gift to the shower UNWRAPPED. After we all
admire your choice, we will fill the Baby Bags provided by
The Perinatal Council. These bags are delivered directly to
the mothers. If you cannot attend, please consider sending
a gift certificate for Target or Baby's R Us.
Gift List:
Diapers, baby wipes, bottles, clothing, bibs, blankets, crib
sheets, baby towels and washcloths, pacifiers, toys, mother's
bags, baby toiletries, anything you believe would help!
